A Message From Mrs Paris
I have been teaching at St Mary Cray for many years now, and I have seen many children grow from strength to strength and make outstanding progress. If children have a good start to school life then it sets them up well for the future! I have worked in EYFS as well as years 1, 2, and 3 and I am delighted to be teaching in Sapphire Class this year.
I am very passionate about teaching children to read. We build on all of the phonics skills that they learnt in KS1 to help them to decode and write new words and we focus on comprehension skills during our guided reading lessons. The children will have the opportunity to listen to stories being read to them as well as sharing their own favourite stories!
This will be an amazing start to KS2 and I am sure the children will enjoy building on their prior knowledge and learning new skills. We have a holistic approach to teaching and learning, we encourage the children to believe in themselves and develop a love for learning.
