Music

At St Mary Cray Primary we strongly believe in providing children with memorable opportunities which is highlighted in our music offer.

In school, all children receive specialist music teaching by a Bromley Youth Music Trust (BYMT) teacher.  Children also have the opportunity to play a different musical instrument every year and the children look forward to performing at our end-of-term music concerts, watched in a packed hall by parents and friends.

• Year 6 - djembe drums

Our music offer extends beyond the classroom and we are proud of the additional opportunities children have to expereince music at St Mary Cray Primary.  We have a school choir which has several performances across the year, including singing Christmas carols at the Glades and Young Voices at the o2 arena.  Children can also choose to have additional private music lessons with a peripatetic teacher from BYMT to learn an instrument such as piano or trumpet.  

We are also very lucky to have iRock deliver sessions to children so that they can experience playing in a band and playing a range of instruments.
