Jubilee Celebrations at SMCPA

The Queens 70th Jubilee Celebrations - W/c Monday 23rd May

To celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee next week, the children at St Mary Cray will be taking part in an exciting week of activities:

Throughout the Week:

Each class will learn about a different decade from the last 70 years and present it in our end of term assembly to the rest of the school.

We will be playing traditional sports from different decades of the Queen’s reign.

Monday 23rd May:

Children may come to school in their own clothes in exchange for a small donation of a red, white or blue item (e.g bubble bath, small toy, soap, chocolate); these donations will then be made into hampers, which will be raffled off after school on Friday 27th May. Each class has been assigned a colour – please see the table below.

Tickets for the hamper raffle will be sold throughout the week by staff and the PTA. All money raised will go towards a special tree to plant in commemoration of the Platinum Jubilee. The remaining money will go towards the school fund.

Friday 27th May:

SMCPA will be having a fun lunchtime street party for the children in the playground with music and food! Please ensure you return your slip so that we can pre order your child’s lunch. Children can dress up in red, white and blue to get into the Jubilee party spirit!
