National Maritime Museum and the Cutty Sark Trip
On Thursday 15th November we became sailors for the day! As sailors we experienced a boatyard at the National Maritime Museum where we could keep the fire going in the boiler room, dress up, cook, go to the market, pull the riggings and raise the flags. After a yummy sailor lunch we boarded the Cutty Sark Ship and helped the Captain to steer the ship with the enormous wheel! We learnt that the ship is very old, it used to transport tea and it kept animals such as chickens, pigs and even monkeys! We really enjoyed our day as a sailor and we would like to thank all of the parent volunteers for helping on the trip.
